Future

During my master, I uncovered my interest in and passion for combining the fields of speculative and social design. Designing many projects that could be deemed speculative and critical, while often implementing a participatory approach. Therefore, I want to enter the social design field, leveraging my experience and competence in speculative design.

I plan to continue the quest to implement the Spread the Bread project in different settings. As of now, I have various leads.

With Amnesty International and their local Eindhoven group to apply the project during a workshop in Parktheater Eindhoven during International Women’s Day, and later for a special LGBTQ+-writing meeting during Pride Week.

With Milieudefensie Jong, based on an open call for art and design projects related to post-capitalism to be presented at an exhibition in Amsterdam, with the possibility to be selected to present at the Climate Museum.

With the Social Design Talent Award for which I will apply after meeting one of the program’s coaches during Demo Day.

And with Night of the Nerds, an event aimed at educating and inspiring 14-19-year-olds on the power of technology, creativity, and making, where I get to present in June.

Lastly, I will try to find a job at a social design studio or municipality. Meanwhile, continuing to build my portfolio and use connections made during DDW to find freelance design work as a speculative social designer.
